Bob Proctor is a life coach, motivational speaker and author of a handful of books, including the best seller “You Were Born Rich” and “The 11 Forgotten Laws” .
Although Bob Proctor has lived a quite notable life, many came to be familiar with him via the movie “The Secret”. What many people don’t realize is that Bob Proctor has lived a wildly successful life – in fact, his life is an almost unimaginable “rags to riches” story in the truest sense.
Bob Procter was born in 1935 in Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada as the middle child to a family of modest means. In fact, his childhood and high school years were fairly unexceptional.
Mr. Proctor didn’t find much interest in studies and eventually made the decision to drop out of high school quite early on. With very few viable work options available to him, Bob joined the Canadian Navy and served four years.
After his stint in the Navy, Bob moved to Toronto in order to work for the fire department. He has stated in interviews that during this period of his life, he was penniless, sick and despondent. During this period he had acquired a copy of Napoleon Hill’s best-selling book, “Think and Grow Rich”. Unbeknownst to him, this book was about to set the stage for a major change in his life.
Inspired by the book, Bob Proctor made the goal of earning $25,000, wrote it on paper and put that goal in his pocket. He decided that he would never reach his goal in his current job, therefore he decided to quit, much to the chagrin of friends and family.
Soon after quitting his job, Bob was inspired to open a janitorial service that specialized in cleaning offices and other workplaces. Almost immediately, his business took off and within a year it had grown into a nationwide chain. Needless to say, Mr. Proctor earned much more than his original goal of $25,000 – in fact, he very quickly began earning upwards of $100,000 per year.
Bob eventually opted to move to Chicago in order to work alongside his mentor, Earl Nightingale, a popular motivational speaker, author and WGN radio show host. Commonly referred to as the “Dean of Personal Development”, Nightingale’s book “Strangest Secret” was lauded as one of the great motivational books of all time.
Under Earl Nightingale’s wing, Bob Proctor rocketed to success, eventually becoming the Vice President of Sales at Nightingale-Conant LLC. From there, Bob went on to found Life Success Productions LLC, under which he began to write his own self-help books, many of which became instant best sellers.
Highly acclaimed motivational books such as “You Were Born Rich” marked Bob Proctor as one of the leaders in the motivational and inspirational community.
Bob Proctor now travels the world promoting his books, speaking at motivational seminars and inspiring millions. Called upon by top corporations such as Metropolitan Life and IBM, Bob Proctor has taught thousands of people how to believe in and act upon the greatness of their minds.
